Education is a core mission at Old First. We offer Sunday School classes during the school year where children and youth explore the Bible and deepen their connection to God. We offer a variety of adult classes and small groups at various times throughout the year.
Our Sunday School classes meet each Sunday morning from September to May. Children, youth, and parents are invited to Rally Day in September to register and attend the first class session. Old First has separate classes for each age group.
- GODLY PLAY (pre-K and Kindergarten) is a Montessori-style Bible study, worship, and prayer time, which creates peace and safety for creativity, self-esteem, and the natural spirituality of children.
- BEULAH LAND (Primary) features flannel-graph Bible stories with art, memory work, and prayer.
- LEARNING THE STORIES (Middle School) includes Bible reading and discussion with history, lifestyle, and culture lessons.
- FAITH QUESTIONS (High School) discusses theology, ethics, and belief. Confirmation is offered to those students requesting it.
Our adult classes meet at various times throughout the year and include Bible studies, reading groups, and themed classes. Visit here to learn about our 2017 Lentin Adult Education Series happening in March or here to RSVP on Facebook.
From Epiphany to Pentecost, we host the “Catechumenate” — a Journey in Faith attended by 5-10 individuals who meet to share liturgical prayer, read scripture, build community, and explore our gifts and calling.
