Special Services

As part of our mission of hospitality and sanctuary, we host holiday, cultural, and interfaith services for congregants and community members alike, often in collaboration with neighboring congregations in Park Slope.

Christmas Eve
Each Christmas Eve, Old First is filled with congregants and community alike for our annual Candlelight Christmas Eve service, which features organ and brass, soloists, and Christmas carols interspersed with the reading of the lessons. In addition, we host a Christmas Pageant late in Advent, which is open to all children who wish to participate.

Lent, Holy Week, and Easter
On Ash Wednesday Old First offers ashes on the sidewalk for the entire community. During Holy Week, we host services for Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, and a service and Easter Egg Hunt on Easter Sunday. Please visit our Facebook page for Holy Week services and other planned events.

All services at Old First are open to the public and we welcome you to join us.
