Since 2015, our international mission partner has been Liberia Entrepreneurial and Asset Development (LEAD), an NGO in Liberia. We support LEAD through our prayers and financial support.
LEAD is a Liberian NGO that works with small business owners to help them grow their businesses and increase overall employment. Formed in 2005 to help rebuild the economy after years of civil war, this microfinance NGO helps farmers and small business owners, working to establish a middle class, increase employment, and improve food security. Through business trainings, loans, and ongoing mentoring, LEAD helps its 2,000 member business owners and farmers to stabilize, strengthen and expand their businesses. It is staffed and led by a Liberian staff and Board of Directors comprised of business leaders and local pastors.
During the Ebola crisis, LEAD continued working, helping farmers supply food and business owners sustain over 12,000 jobs. Now that the crisis has passed, they are instrumental in helping the small business sector rebuild. We channel our donations to LEAD through their U.S.-based affiliate Partners Worldwide.
