The Baroquelyn Kickstarter Campaign Is Underway — Help Crowdfund the Fall Season

We are pleased to share a message from our Old First organist and Baroquelyn founder and director, Aleeza Meir:

I’m very excited to give you the heads up about a big new endeavor I’m starting:

As you may know, I’ve recently formed a music ensemble called Baroquelyn. Our first concert in November was a big success, and I’m about to do a second concert this Sunday. But I won’t be able to keep funding them out of pocket (I’m a musician!), so I’ve put together a plan to make them sustainable for the future.

I’m launching a Kickstarter campaign, which will run through May 31. It aims to fund a four-concert season beginning in the fall, and also show that we have strong community backing to help attract future corporate sponsorship and grants.

Successful crowd-funding campaigns always start with involvement by people already close to the creator — that’s you!  Coming out of the gate strong means the project will end up higher in search engines, and it will be more likely that people who don’t already know me will find out about it and want to get involved.

Since initial momentum is really important to the project’s overall success, I ask that if you are going to become a backer, please do so right at the beginning of the project to help us have a strong launch.

Regardless of whether you back the campaign, one of the best ways you can pitch in is by helping me get the word out. I know that many of you have great social media presences, and every little “hey, check out this project Aleeza’s doing” helps.

I’ll be offering a bunch of rewards for contributions small and big, ranging from a live recording of our May 6 performance, to concert tickets, all the way up to house concerts.

I’m very excited about Baroquelyn, and eager to get it established, and I would love it if you would be a part of it and help let others know as well.

More than a few of you have already been directly supportive of this project, and the rest of you indirectly. So, many thanks and much gratitude to you all for your inspiration and support — it matters!

Even if you’re not up for making a contribution, your help spreading the word is hugely valuable and important for a successful campaign.

Special thanks go out to Eva Zelig and Terence Taylor (who produced the beautiful campaign video), Jason Zucker (for the wonderful camera work), and Michael Daves (who has been an invaluable resource).

You can always update your pledge if you want any time between now and the end of the campaign.

Please let me know if you have any questions, and thank you so much for your support!

You can follow Baroquelyn on Twitter @Baroquelyn, Instagram @BaroquelynMusicand Facebook:  https://www.facebook.com/baroquelyn/ and then share/retweet posts as they come up. And if you do back the project, please consider letting people know that on social media!

For old-fashioned, analog communication, I will also have postcards about the Kickstarter to hand out – please let me know if I can get you some to give to friends or post in your local coffee shop.
