Old First to be featured on June 16 Untapped Cities Insiders tour

On June 16, Old First will host an Untapped Cities Insiders tour for members of the tour company dedicated to unearthing New York City’s most unique and surprising places, stories and events.

Untapped Cities tours are walking tours led by licensed NYC tour guides for visitors and New Yorkers alike who are curious about sights off the beaten path, with a strong focus on history and architecture, the secrets behind NYC’s most iconic places and access to places which are usually off-limits to the public.

The tour will take place Sunday, June 16th at 2pm and will be led by Old First Pastor Daniel Meeter, featuring our exquisite stained-glass windows created by Otto Heinigke, William Willet and Tiffany Studios; a discussion of the restoration work in both in the sanctuary and throughout our 1891 building; a deep dive into the majesty of the church’s pipe organ and ornate balcony; and a climb to the top of our 212-foot limestone spire, which can be seen for miles.

This is a unique and fun opportunity for Old First to share the story of our building, our restoration project, and unique place in the landscape of Park Slope and the history of Brooklyn, and we are thrilled to welcome Untapped Cities Insiders to come learn about our beautiful space!
