Baroquelyn’s 2018-19 season continues! Mark your calendars: Sunday, February 3 at 3 pm at Old First Upper Hall.

Our next concert, Sound the Trumpet, is on!  Trumpeter Louis Ranger will join us to offer some rich, warm sounds to counteract the cold of February.  He and his sister Nancy Ranger will join forces, along with Jason Smoller, to perform Telemann’s joyful concerto for trumpet and two oboes.  He’ll also play Handel’s well-loved Trumpet Suite in D — which it seems may have actually been surreptitiously put together (quite successfully!) by the rival of Handel’s exclusive publisher, using various movements from his other pieces.  Filling out the program are Bach’s cantata “Gott soll allein mein Herze haben” featuring countertenor Jeffrey Mandelbaum and a delightful organ obbligato.  And…let’s not forget about Brandenburg #4!
